Buying a travel eSIM before your trip is the easiest way to land with mobile data ready. For Malaysians, the next question is usually simple: how do I pay? At OTOSUBS you can pay in Ringgit with FPX online banking or DuitNow QR, or use a debit or credit card. This guide explains each option so you can choose the one that suits you.
Paying with FPX online banking
FPX lets you pay straight from your Malaysian bank account, the same way you pay bills online.
- Choose your destination and plan, then go to checkout.
- Make sure the currency is set to MYR (RM).
- Pick FPX, choose your bank and log in to approve the payment.
- You approve the payment on your own bank's page, so OTOSUBS never sees your banking login.
Paying with DuitNow QR
DuitNow QR is handy if you prefer paying from your phone.
- At checkout in MYR, choose DuitNow QR.
- Scan the QR code with a banking or e-wallet app that supports DuitNow QR.
- Approve the payment in your app, then return to the OTOSUBS page.
Paying by debit or credit card
Cards work in RM and in many other currencies. If your currency is set to something other than MYR, card is the only payment option shown, because FPX and DuitNow only work in Ringgit.
Why can't I see FPX or DuitNow?
The most common reason is the currency setting. Switch the currency at the top of the page to MYR and the FPX and DuitNow options will appear at checkout.
What happens after you pay
- Your eSIM QR code is emailed to you as soon as the payment is confirmed.
- It also appears under My eSIMs in your OTOSUBS account.
- Install the eSIM before you fly while you still have Wi-Fi, and switch on data roaming for the eSIM when you land.
Quick checklist
- Check that your phone supports eSIM and is not locked to one network.
- Set the currency to MYR if you want to pay by FPX or DuitNow.
- Keep your order email; it has your QR code and order number.
- If a payment is taken but no email arrives within 30 minutes, contact OTOSUBS support with your order number.
